Mesa Lane Beach is a narrow beach near West Mesa, Santa Barbara. At low tide, this beach is wide enough for sunbathing and beach sports, but at high tide, there is little dry sand. It requires climbing down steep stairs to get to the beach here. Ironically, there are more stairs to get to the beach at Mesa Lane than Thousand Steps Beach just east of here. West of Mesa Lane Beach, the beach remains narrow under the Douglas Family Reserve, eventually opening at Arroyo Bro Beach, also known as Hendry Beach. To get to Mesa Lane Beach, close Cliff Drive, head out to sea on Mesa Lane and continue on Edgewater Way to the end. There is no parking at this location, but there is off-street parking on Mesa Lane and other nearby streets. A cobblestone path leads to the top of the stairs.
