Dog Beach is the northern part of Ocean Beach City Beach, extending to the mouth of the San Diego River. Dogs are generally allowed north of the Ocean Beach Bike Path and are not allowed between the path and the Ocean Beach Pier. Dog Beach is a wide sand tongue overlooking the long rocky pier that separates the river from the Mission Bay entryway. The Dog Beach parking lot is located on the west end of West Point Loma Boulevard near Ocean Beach in San Diego.
